good stuff.

good evening.

i wanted to share a bit of lines & shapes, vol. 2. if you have not seen it yet, you should get your hands on a copy. the new artists created some amazing work.

it is so fun to unwrap the book from it's lovely packaging. i love the cover shot by maditi; as always her work is stunning.

i also love the addition of the little bits of the making of the book by mav and lena {shown in the bottom 2 photos}. it is so fun to follow their days and see their little notes.

and, as we all know, rebecca thuss is amazing! the work from thuss/farrell in the book is really inspiring. i love the block shaped ice cream. the colors, the textures...so good.

on a different note, have you tried any cherries yet this season? i had some today for the first time this spring and they were so good.

good night, all.

happy.

a few things that made me happy today:

: the wee little bird i saw sitting on a street sign as i came up out of the subway today. he was so tiny i was not sure if he was real at first. so cute.

: seeing all the delicious fruits and veggies at the greenmarket today.

: did i mention the amazing weather...beautiful sunshine with a perfect little breeze.

: reading all of your sweet comments from yesterday. thank you!

: seeing the wiksten summer collection online {with amazing photos from hannah}.

: eating a delicious dinner of asparagus with a fried egg. yum!

as you can tell, i am feeling a little better. have a great evening.

oddities.

hi there.

lately i have been feeling a little odd. i'm not sure why, but stess is really taking a toll on me. i used to get really stressed about stuff when i was younger, but i thought i grew out of it. i think i may have grown back into it. it is like something takes over inside my body that i cannot control. i am trying to enjoy the small things and not get so consumed, but it is difficult. any stress relieving tips to offer?
i have been experimenting with film again and loving it. although these are not film, i am also inspired by the colors and all the amazing objects in my friend rebecca's kitchen. looking at these does soothe the mind a little.
take a look at design for mankind's latest inspiration issue, all about nature {my favorite}. thanks for including me in the issue, erin!

favorites.

i could not resist buying these gorgeous flowers. 2 of my favorites: peonies and ranunculus.

i can't wait to experiment with photographing them.

have you seen the new urban outfitters catalog. i haven't really looked at the inside yet, but the cover really caught my eye. i like the layout a lot. very simple. they have some great shoes on the back too. at great prices. i really like these. i do have a thing for navy.

have a good night, friends.

and smaller
freely.
endlessly
it's up to me.

a point of contact is
sweetly
fragile
with infinite possibility.

calm beauty.

i wanted to share one of my recent book purchases. it is a book of photos and words by rinko kawauchi called the eyes, the ears.
it is so wonderful. above are some of my favorite pages. the words in the first photo say:
i escaped from
a box with no lid.
i was supposed to be round.
gonna take a journey to find myself.
i will share a few more tomorrow.
ps. nicole and i have a new photo over here. also, i can't wait to receive my copy of lines & shapes, vol. 2. the cover is so beautiful.

inspired : 3

it is that time again. i am excited to post this month's inspired duo. it is so hard to capture the details of heather's piece through a photograph or scan. i hope you can see it's beauty. it says, "in my jar of ocean sounds i hear memories." there are tiny flecks of gold and silver at the top too. it is beautiful. i really like this duo. it reminds me of lazy summer days.

heather will be posting my response to her april piece on her blog today. and...we will both be posting our new pieces for may tomorrow. i hope you are all enjoying this project. it is really pushing me to create in a different way which i am really loving.

have a great sunday!
