comfort in orange

1. Soon-to-be, 2. split pea soup, 3. tangle, 4. episode 10

for some reason i am loving orange lately, but only in little bits. i love how each of these photos has a hint of orange. these images are a perfect end to autumn as we head into winter and the holiday season.

i am running so behind this holiday season, it has just crept up on me. just a reminder... i will be doing a small shop update sometime on saturday, dec. 1st. and then another sometime next week. hopefully by wed. some of the supplies i need for packaging have not come in yet {mostly because i ordered them too late;) }

off to make some dinner, have a good night.

oh, one more thing- this looks like it will be interesting.

home coming

don't vacations always seem to fly by. especially when there is a holiday involved. i had a nice time visiting my family, but i am so happy to be back to my bed, my routines, and my home.
although my apartment is small and cluttered, it is home. i love coming home to the familiar sunlight streaming in my window, looking at my familiar vase in the window, and taking a breath.

one of the best things about coming home is having packages waiting for you. yay!

pictured above is the lovely tea towel i ordered from skinny laminx. it's so beautiful in person.

i also received some wonderful things from the thoughtful hannah, including the little crucible above. shari also sent me some goodies, including the cookies and the little bits of nature above.

a good dose of nature

i hope everyone had a lovely thanksgiving and a relaxing couple of days. i made some of lena's pumpkin cranberry bread for the morning after, and it was delicious. i substituted 1/2 whole wheat flour, which probably made it a little denser. i also added extra walnuts and a little brown sugar to the top. yum! i highly recommend her recipe.

a little walk

since i have been absent from this space, i really wanted to post a few times this week. i had no idea what to post about today until i went on a little walk.

i am visiting my family in georgia; they live in the semi-country and it is just gorgeous here! the fall leaves are still in full effect and although my family insists on raking them up, they are still in abundance.

driving out of their neighborhood this morning, a little family of deer crossed the road right in front of me. just sauntered on by. so sweet. luckily i was not going too fast. and, as much as i hate driving, being able to drive along the highway and look at all the beautiful leaves is amazing.

and it is so fun to be amazed by pinecones. i grew up with them all around me, but i guess i never took notice of them until now. now i know how shari must feel.

i'll be back tomorrow to share more photos from my walk and maybe some baked treats.

winter wonders

hi everyone. i have pretty busy the last few weeks and now i am taking some time to relax. i have been spending a little time with my nephew, making snowflakes and snow globes. i am also working on some new wintry goods for my winter wonders shop update december 1st.
