each volume will be made up of different artists; i can't wait to see who will be included in the next one.

the photo above is one of my interpretations of the theme: circle.
the bottom photo was taken by maria and shows a part of my contribution to the book.

i have added this print to my shop along with a few other new spring goodies.

have a great day and thanks for visiting!

today.

sometimes people amaze me. on my way home today during rush hour on the subway, i saw this older woman. she was squeezed into a seat between 2 other people. her beautiful, incredibly sweet-looking seeing eye dog sat down below her feet. with all the hustle and bustle around her, nothing seemed to faze her. she took out what looked like a large white magazine and began to read. it turned out to be a new york times in braille. to me she seemed extraordinary, but to her this was just a normal day.

baking and resting.

i did a little baking on sunday. i made this rustic apple tart with fresh rosemary{recipe here}. i felt inspired after seeing shari's pies. it was my first time making my own crust. it was super easy, except that i sliced my thumb cleaning the food processor.

spent the rest of sunday watching the office: season 2. i have just discovered this show and now i can't get enough. it is so hilarious!

good evening, all.

a few announcements.

happy sunday! i have a few exciting things to announce today.

+ first of all i am starting a collaboration with heather smith jones. it is called inspired.

here's how it works: at the beginning of each month we email each other a new piece of our work. at the end of the month we will mail the other person a new piece inspired by the other's work. so, at the end of each month, each of us will have 2 pieces of artwork, one inspired by the other. writing it down like this makes it sound kind of confusing, but i hope it makes sense. i am really pleased to be working with such a talented artist as heather and to create pieces made up of two different media. the image above is my first piece from heather. can't wait to show you our duos at the end of the month.

you can see my first image over at heather's blog {i'm sure she will be posting it soon}.

+ the second thing to announce is another amazing collaboration. this time with nicole. i have always been drawn to nicole's tabletop still lifes, so i am really looking forward to working with her. our project is called before and after. one of us will take a 'before' photo and one of us will take an 'after' photo. we will be posting once a week {probably on saturdays} over here.
please leave us comments and let us know what you think!

i think these will both be really fun and thanks for letting me share with you.
enjoy the rest of your weekend!
