time of the season.

i picked up some great looking fruits and vegetables for roasting today. i love seeing all the beautiful colors together.

abby opened up a new shop today. i could not resist buying this print. it is just so sweet.
abby was the first person to support my little shop and i am so happy she has opened hers again.
speaking of my shop, i will have something new to share soon. i am not sure exactly when, but i'll let you know.
i love these stones {via design*sponge}.
now, i am off to look at the lines+shapes vol. 5 that arrived in my mailbox today. maybe i will share some photos tomorrow.
good night.

evening light.

good evening. i don't think i have mentioned this, but i have been working on photographing a craft book for the amazing stylist and crafter, kayte terry. it will be published next fall by chronicle books. it has been a lot of fun and i think it will be a beautiful book. this is one of the shots i took in between the shots for the book. the lighting was really gorgeous, for a few magical moments.

have a good night.

a few things.

just a few random thoughts today...

i really love these fun food related tattoos in the new edible brooklyn.

i made a really easy dinner the other night. i tossed some parsnips with olive oil, fresh rosemary, salt and pepper. i wrapped them in foil and roasted them about 20-30 minutes. i took them out while they were still firm and not yet done roasting. i added some sliced apples to the mixture, rewrapped them and cooked them for about 20 more minutes. it was really tasty. a perfect side dish for chicken or great on it's own or with a salad. it will definately be a season for many combinations of roasted vegetables. yum.

all settled.

somebody is settling in quite nicely in my new apartment. this window nook is definitely his favorite spot. he loves lounging in the sun.

i am still getting used to my new place. the apartment is great; the light, the space, i really love it. it is just hard to leave a neighborhood that i really loved. i had gotten used to all my usual routines and my usual stops on my way home. my favorite grocer, bakery, laundry, gym, wine shop, etc. but, i did discover a great ymca right around the corner and i have definitely discovered a couple of great cafe/bakeries.

as i get settled in and get ready to watch the debate, i am awaiting a delicious dinner of roasted rosemary chicken, sweet potatoes, and parsnips.

tomorrow i plan to set out and join shari's week of paths and explore the fall leaves. i hope you have a good evening.

little surprise.

i was excited to find out my book, simply breakfast, was featured in a japanese magazine, arne{top photo}.

They also sent me a couple of sweet gifts. a nice little book of small photos by yataro matsuura called 10 essays {bottom 2 photos} and some amazing cyanotype postcards. aren't they gorgeous! have a great day.

inspired:8

good evening, everyone. i hope you all had great weekends!
we had really great weather here. i did not really get to enjoy it too much; for some reason i was running around all weekend. i should be able to catch up a little this week and check in here a little more often. i am excited to post the final september duo for inspired. isn't heather's package the cutest! she has the sweetest little fall stamps. her piece says "i see you in the brilliant light."

talk to you soon.

good evening. sorry i have been away so long. i have been moving and trying to get settled. i'm still trying to get settled, but life is getting in the way. i am pretty busy, so i may not check in again until the end of the week. i just wanted to stop in to post heather's new october piece for inspired. isn't it wonderful?! heather will be posting my october piece soon.

we will be posting the final duos for september sometime later this week or early next.

have a great week and enjoy the fall weather.
