my new favorite vegetable: broccoli rabe. it is so good. i am addicted.

i made this amazing open faced sandwich: broccoli rabe and garlic sauteed in olive oil with tomatoes and goat cheese on toasted flax seed bread. so simple and delicious.

although after the new book i am reading, animal, vegetable, miracle, i am now feeling guilty about the tomatoes. i may have to cut them out of my diet until summer. this book is so interesting. it is a memoir of a year in the life of a family living off food produced locally. it is full of interesting facts and also lots of recipes and ideas for seasonal eating. can't wait to read more. this cook book was mentioned in the book as well. i really want to get it.
